Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec

The Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec (RCCAQ) is a non-profit organization incorporated under the Professional Corporations Act (R.S.Q., chapter S-40). Formed in 1973 under the name Fédération des courtiers d’assurance (Federation of Insurance Brokers) and later renamed RCCAQ, it brings together the majority of insurance brokerages and brokers in Quebec.

The Autorité des marchés financiers

The Autorité des marchés financiers is the organization mandated by the Government of Quebec to regulate Quebec's financial markets and provide assistance to consumers of financial products and services.

Chambre de l'assurance de dommages

The mission of the Chambre de l'assurance de dommages (Chamber of Damage Insurance) is to ensure the protection of the public in matters of damage insurance and claims adjustment expertise. It oversees the mandatory continuing education of damage insurance agents and brokers, as well as claims adjusters. It provides preventive and disciplinary oversight of the professional practice of individuals working in these fields.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is the association that represents the majority of property and casualty insurers, i.e., those that offer property insurance (home and business), auto insurance, and liability insurance.

The government created the Société d'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ)

The government created the Société d'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), a government corporation responsible for compensating victims of bodily injury. It also created the Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) to carry out certain tasks related to the compensation of property damage.

The Registre des droits personnels et réels mobiliers du Québec (Registry of Personal and Real Rights (RDPRM)) allows you to find out whether certain assets (road vehicles, business assets, etc.) have been pledged as collateral or are subject to debt. “To avoid buying someone else's debts, always check the RDPRM!”

Office de la protection du consommateur

The Office de la protection du consommateur (Office of Consumer Protection) monitors the enforcement of laws under its responsibility, informs consumers collectively and individually, educates them, and receives their complaints. In addition, it promotes cooperation among stakeholders in the consumer market.

Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec

Legally, the Corporation is a legal entity under public law within the meaning of the Civil Code of Québec and enjoys the rights and privileges of a government agent. The Corporation offers an integrated management model designed to protect individuals. This model is applied in three areas: prevention, control, and repair. The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec reports to the Québec Minister of Transport.
